Eligibility
- Programs where all ages are eligible
- Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Cord Injury, Hemophilia, Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis , Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis , Muscular Dystrophy
- Resident of Yukon
- No more than 183 days per year absent from Yukon
- Must have a chronic disease or disability listed for coverage that causes serious functional impairment and includes partial and complete paralysis, amputation, brain damage, intellectual disabilities, and others (does not include sensory impairment such as poor vision or hearing deficit)

What Devices are Covered?
- Manual wheelchair
- Walking aids
- Manually operated hospital beds
- Bathroom aids: grab bars and support rails, commodes
- Prosthetics
- Other devices (includes compression garments, orthotics)
What Services are Available?
- Financial assistance for equipment
- Assistance with purchase and repair of hearing aids for children under age 16 with permanent hearing loss
- Does not include cost of installation/set up of medical equipment, prosthesis and appliance fittings or professional service charges related to the provision of goods
- Other equipment or devices that are medically necessary may be covered at the discretion of the Director and subject to prior approval
Procedure for Getting Access
- Physician must apply for benefits on behalf of the patient; in communities without a resident physician, a community health nurse can make the application
- Claims can be made for reimbursement of the cost with the recommendation of a qualified medical practitioner and all documentation
