Eligibility

- Adults (18 to 64)*
- Enrolled in course which is 12 weeks or greater at approved post-secondary institution and is taking at least 40% of full course load
- Eligible to apply for Canada Student Loan through Prince Edward Island Student Financial Services and have an assessed financial need of at least one dollar
- Have a permanent disability that limits the ability to perform daily activities necessary to participate fully in postsecondary studies or in the labour force

What Services are Available?
- Learning disability assessments and reimbursement
- Reimbursement of 75% of the cost of a psychological assessment for learning disabilities (to maximum of $1200 per loan year) is an eligible educational expense
- Eligible students may receive funding up to $8000
Procedure for Getting Access
- Provide or have on file medical documentation of disability, including details of the limitation and barriers encountered, along with recommendations for accommodations
- Submission of a copy of the applicant's current Student Assistance Explanation of Assessment or Certificate of Eligibility and Canada Student Loans Agreement
- Submit application form for the Canada Student Grant for Services & Equipment for Students with Disabilities, which must be signed by the post-secondary institution's disability administrator or an institution official
- Provision of two cost estimates for each item requested
